Know Before You Go

Parking and Transit

Parking will be provided at a garage on Duke’s medical campus, with free shuttle service to events on Duke’s West Campus. Parking passes are now available for purchase within the event registration form below. Click below to modify your registration and select parking passes on the third page of the form. You will need your registration email and confirmation code to login. Parking cannot be guaranteed directly on Duke's West campus. If you'd like guaranteed parking, please purchase passes.

Parking passes will be delivered directly via email prior to the conference along with the garage address and shuttle information. Shuttles from the parking garage will arrive at the garage every 10 to 20 minutes. The shuttles will run from 5-10 PM on Thursday and 7 AM to 7 PM on Friday and Saturday, and they will drop-off directly outside of the Divinity School at Telcom Circle.

Downtown Shuttles

Free shuttles will be provided between the Durham Marriott City Center at 201 Foster St., Hilton Garden Inn at 2102 W. Main St., and campus. These shuttles will arrive at the shuttle stops every 10 to 20 minutes. The shuttles will run from 5 –10 PM on Thursday and 7 AM–7 PM on Friday and Saturday, and they will drop-off directly outside of the Divinity School at Telcom Circle. You do not need to be staying at one of these hotels to use this service. Free street parking is available near the Hilton Garden Inn. Additionally, there are various street and garage options near the Marriott City Center downtown.

Arts Annex: Registered for a workshop at the Arts Annex? Transit information will be sent directly to Annex workshop attendees.

Event App

Click below to download the event app and log in! The event app will be the primary means of communication during the conference as well as the source for networking groups, live audience Q&A in sessions, and more. The app will also house updated information on parking, transit, food and drink, and more —all the info on this page!

Downloading the app will ensure you are able to participate in session Q&A as well as receive notifications about conference shuttles, location reminders, and schedule details.

Attire

There is no conference-wide dress code. The days will be full and long, so we recommend dressing for comfort and ease. Temperatures are forecasted to be in the eighties, but all conference events will be climate controlled. We recommend bringing layers to be prepared for warmer weather outside and cooler temperatures inside. Business casual attire is welcome but not required for the Fully Alive keynote and Life Unbound concert at the Carolina Theatre.

Food and Drink

Campus Spots - Coffee & Food

  • Duke's famous food hall, located across the chapel quad from Duke Divinity School. Eateries include Sazón latin American cuisine, Ginger+Soy asian cuisine, Tandoor indian, CaFe coffee and crepes, and more.

  • Duke’s student union building where check-in will take place. Includes McDonald's, Gothic Grill, It's Thyme, and Beyu Blue Coffee. View menus on the Duke Dining page under the "Bryan Center" heading.

  • Located in Perkins Library, this cafe includes premade sandwiches, salads, pastry, and a coffee bar in a glassed-in, brightly lit space in Duke's main library. (Exit Duke Divinity School and walk toward the bus stops, hang a left, and enter through the second set of doors. You'll smell it from there.)

  • Located to the rear of Duke Divinity in the Pratt School of Engineering. Serves sandwiches, cake, and excellent coffee. (Cross Telcom Circle, where the bus drops are, and head down the stairs, then hang a left.)

  • Zweli’s Zimbabwaen Cafe is located inside Duke Divinity School. Only open on Friday, not weekends.
